Volunteers

Volunteers are always welcome. Whether you are interested in committing to every Tuesday or once per month, your help will be appreciated.

As you work alongside other volunteers, you can feel their love for the hurting people who come every Tuesday. You, too, can make a difference in people's lives at Victory Group.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life. We have recovering and recovered addicts that volunteer. Some volunteers are family members and friends of addicts, and others have not experienced the pain of addiction in their lives, but have a heart for reaching out to others. Victory Group is known for how our members reach out with friendship as well as help. Join us as we:

  • Reach the unreachable
  • Touch the untouchable
  • Love the unloved
  • Help to restore broken hearts and broken lives

If you would like more information, email us at info@recoveratvictory.com or call the church office during office hours at (724) 453-6200, ext. 372 and our staff will assist you.

Current Volunteer Opportunities at Victory Group:

In an effort to keep volunteering simple, we work on a weekly schedule by month. For example, you might sign up to work once a month as a greeter, on the 2nd Tuesday of every month. Or, you may sign up to serve on our prayer team, once you have completed training, on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month. We ask our volunteers to commit to six months once they sign up and to notify us if they are unable to make it on their scheduled Tuesday.

Child Care

Free child care is available to those attending Victory Group as well as to our faithful volunteers. All child care workers must pass a background check and work in teams.

Correspondence Secretary

This organized person takes care of our "we miss you" notes and notes of encouragement.

Greeters

Greeters welcome our guests to Victory Group. Everyone is welcomed with a smile and a hug. Name tags are provided (first name only, please).

Group Leaders

Group leaders are trained in how to effectively lead a recovery group. Volunteers are encouraged to attend our group for a while before signing up as a group leader so that they can become familiar with how our group runs.

Prayer Team

Our prayer team is trained on how to minister to individuals that come forward for prayer Our prayer team may also participate in Victory Family Church's Altar Worker ministry and vice versa.

Security

Our security team monitors all aspects of our ministry to keep our group safe and secure.

Servers

Our servers prepare and serve the refreshments for the evening. Food, bagel, and pastry donations are also packaged so that they can be distributed at the end of the meeting. If you enjoy putting out a spread or serving others, you'll find this area of ministry very rewarding.

Set Up

Our set-up crew arrives at Victory Group early to begin getting ready for our guests. First responders get there by 5:15 p.m. and others pitch in when they are able to arrive. Tables are set up for refreshments and literature, name tags are put out, chairs are arranged for discussion groups, and the coffee pots are plugged in!

A Special Thank You:

Thank you to all of our faithful volunteers who show up each week to serve. Without you, Victory Group would not be what it is today. As Pastor John is teaching us the Word, it is truly a blessing to see people step out to serve, greet, pray for, and love hurting people. We are so thankful to serve with such beautiful children of God.

If you give to the United Way, please consider designating the Victory Group for your contributions.
